Ishtiyaq Ahmad Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 18: The Jammu and Kashmir government has started looking for bureaucrats who are overstaying beyond their approved tenures while on deputation, ET has learnt. Highly placed sources in the state government said that following various reports about the officers who are overstaying years together, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has taken a stern view in this regard and has directed the authorities to locate such officers. "The government has started a mammoth exercise and search to locate such officers following directions that overstayed officers needs to be transferred immediately," sources said. Sources further said that the steps are being taken after a number of instances have come to notice where officers have overstayed beyond their approved tenures while on deputation. "This trend needs to be discouraged by ensuring immediate action as per government policy," Sources quoting government said.
