NHM J&K, Doctors for you train 500 block level ToTs in disaster management | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 29: National Health Mission J&K in collaboration with NGO "Doctors For You" conducted training programme for capacity building of health workers for all the districts of the State and have trained 500 block level trainers (ToTs) till date. Meanwhile a Training programme for health workers was also held. According to official spokesperson, the training programme was started in the month of October 2014 and the same was inaugurated by Gazzanfer Hussain (IAS), Commissioner /Secretary to Govt Health & Medical Education in presence of Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K and other Head of the Departments. Giving details of training programme, Mission Director Dr Yashpal Sharma said that to maintain proper and timely service delivery during disasters a planned approach and preparedness is required. He said the training programme was planned in 3 phases, the first phase focussed on training of 70 State Level Trainers who comprised of District ASHA Coordinators, District Programme Managers, District Monitoring & Evaluation Officers and officers from State Health Society. He added that under second phase 500 block level trainers were trained by State Trainers who comprised of District/ Block Level officers, senior health workers, ASHA Facilitators, ASHA Coordinator etc "And in the last phase these block level trainers shall train 12000 ASHA workers of the State in disaster management as they are the first responders during disasters, emergencies and these workers need to be trained effectively in disaster risk management, he added. The State Level Trainers were trained by National Level team comprising of Dr Ravi Kanth Singh, Dr Archana Thambare from "Doctors For You" NGO and Arun Srivastav from NHSRC New Delhi. |
