Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: Extremely disappointed over the failure of ruling Party in Jammu and Kashmir to rejuvenate nationalist forces in the State, particularly in Valley, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has come forward to take control of the affairs in this regard. Without any interference in the functioning of PDP-BJP Government, the RSS is all set to expand its activities in each and every sphere for strengthening and projecting nationalist forces in J&K, which were felt missing during the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir Valley. Even as the party high command has been taken into confidence in this regard, no BJP leader from Jammu and Kashmir was taken on board by the RSS, which seems to have lost faith in the capabilities of saffron party leadership, sources explained. It may be recalled that before 2014 Assembly elections, the BJP national president Amit Shah had said that formation of Government by his party in Jammu and Kashmir would convey a strong message to the entire world and strengthen nationalist forces in the State. It was the only reason that BJP spent more than Rs 400 crores for elections in Kashmir Valley only as the party was confident of securing around two dozen seats from Jammu region. Even after the party drew a blank in Kashmir, RSS was hopeful of nationalist forces getting strengthened in the State due to BJP coming to power, though in alliance with PDP. However, prevailing unrest in the Valley and its intensity have forced the RSS to revisit its Kashmir policy and take control of affairs directly in its hands. For the purpose, a comprehensive strategy is being chalked out to identify the nationalist elements and encourage them besides isolating the separatists, who have had been blackmailing New Delhi for the last 70 years, sources disclosed. According to the sources, the strategy is in its place and the same is being implemented in a phased manner for assessing the results in next two years. However, no assistance in this regard will be taken from the State Government as well as BJP leadership, who have been virtually kept in dark over the same, sources added. |
