Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 23: The so-called chief of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik is desperate to come out from the jail.
He (Malik) has reportedly asked his henchmen to spread canards about him being unwell so that he could blackmail the government to shift him to Delhi for the so-called treatment.
Sources told Early Times that during the past 15-days rumours about Yasin Malik's falling health are making rounds. On Saturday rumours were spread that Yasin Malik's condition has deteriorated as injection administered to him in the jail has failed. Following this rumour, Malik's henchmen appeared at Maisuma and broke the windowpanes of scores of vehicles and later resorted to stone pelting.
"The drama staged by Malik could have led to atmosphere getting vitiated and situation taking an ugly turn," said a source.
He said, "Later Malik was shifted to SKIMS Soura for the treatment."
Insiders claimed that since the day Malik has been arrested he is looking for ways and means to come out."
Sources claimed that he had told the members of the All Party Delegation (APD) who met him at Humhama Police Station that he is ready to talk to them but they should call him to Delhi for holding the talks.
Malik , sources said, had even conveyed it to a few people in the government that if he is set free he would ensure that Maisuma reopens and he would use his influence to keep the city centre calm. "Despite Malik making numerous offers people at the helm did not pay any heed towards his suggestions and maintained silence pushing the JKLF chief to edge," they added.
Sources said after the separatists refused to meet the members of the APD, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) passed clear cut instructions to the state government not to engage with the separatists and turn them irrelevant.
On Sunday a JKLF spokesman issued a statement claiming that Yasin Malik is severely ill and people should pray for him.
A Kashmir watcher said, "Malik knows it very well that people at the helm are in no mood to engage with the separatists and they would have to spend more time in the prison. He is aware of the fact that road for him is not going to be that easy. He is throwing tantrums to attract the attention of the people so that he could be shifted to Delhi hospital where he can spend some time."
