Urs Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-Din observed with traditional religious fervor

Kishtwar, Nov 9: Thousands of devotees from all over the State and other parts of the country thronged Kishtwar to participate in a week long celebrations of annual Urs Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-Din (RTA), a great religious personality and saint of eminence of his days.
More than 50000 peoples from different parts of state have arrived in Kishtwar District and participated in two day long prayers. "On Tuesday and Wednesday Night, special prayers were also held inside the shrine of Asrar Sahib before the annual Urs will be declared to be concluded Thursday morning.
The Sajjada Nasheen of the Ziyarat Asraria also displayed the historic personal belongings like clothes, quilt, cap, stick, Takhti and other items used by religious preacher commonly known as "Tabrukat" which are being traditionally displayed once in year.
Meanwhile Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar under the leadership of administrator Dr Tariq Hussain Dev in collaboration with District Administration Kishtwar has put an elaborated arrangements for the convenience of devotees, viz. installation of high mast lights, generators, installation of water taps, cleanliness, tenting and free food arrangements for the visiting Zayreens (Devotees).
Police have also made an elaborated security arrangement to deal with any law and order problem, beside to keep an eye on anti national and criminal elements. Police personal in civil dresses were also deployed in large numbers in and around the both shrines.
It is pertinent to mention that Sufism, a branch of Islam has been practiced in Kishtwar and Doda districts, where people of different faiths lived in harmony. Ancient manuscripts, in Persian, bear testimony to the fact that Sufism flourished in Chenab region during the 15th century was spread by Sufi saints, who arrived in Chenab valley from different parts of the country.
17th century marked the prominence of Sufism in Chenab region owing to the arrival of Hazrat Shah Mohammed Farid-ud-Din Baghdadi (RTA) and his two sons Hazrat Shah Asrar-ud-din (RTA) and Hazrat Shah Akhyar-ud-din (RTA). Besides this Sufism already had been introduced in Chenab region by other sufi saints namely Hazrat Shah Hamdan (RTA), Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani (RTA) and Hazrat Zain-ul-Abedeen Rishi (RTA) also in past.
These sufi saints preached the basic tenets of Islam to people and urged them to be awakened out of the ignorance owing to blind pursuit of ritualism and also illiteracy.
These pious souls made people aware to Tawhid or monotheism (oneness of Allah) and also urged them to read the Quran and the Hadith. The mausoleums of these revered Masters have been flocked by devotees for spiritual salvation and to seek blessing for prosperity in life.
