Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 5 : Highlighting their demands and grievances, members of J&K Police (Non-Gazetted) Pensioners Welfare Association held a protest demonstration, here today. The protesting Police pensioners raised slogans in support of their demands, which include implementation of order on Pay anomalies with retrospective effect, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000, cashless Health Care Policy for them, 15 percent recruitment quota for wards of retired Police personnel, one rank one pension in Police Department, etc. The protest demonstration was also addressed by leaders of the Association, including president Ajit Singh, who lamented that there was no change in the pay anomalies order. "Government order number 229-F of 2014, dated 17-10-2014 is not acceptable regarding Pay Anomalies since the effect is being given prospective," they said. They further alleged that no welfare facility was available for Non-Gazetted Police personnel whereas for the Gazetted officers, the Mess was available at both Jammu and Srinagar. "However, the NGO's deduction is more than GOs welfare deduction and this is discrimination with the NGO," they explained. The Association leader also demanded that at least Rs 50 thousand should be sanctioned at the time of death of retired police personnel for performing last rites of the deceased. |
