Jammu, Jan 10: District hospital (DH) Rajouri has achieved a unique distinction by having excessive staff in comparison to available posts while the rural health institutions in the same district face acute shortage of doctors and paramedical staff.
Reliable sources in health department told Early Times that in District Hospital Rajouri more than thirty employees including doctors and paramedical staff using their influence at the helms of affair on extraneous consideration managed their choicest posting without availability of posts for a long period who are Dr Zubair Afzal Khan (Senior Consultant, Surgery), Dr Vidushi Badyal (Consultant ENT), Dr Rakia Parveen (Consultant Gynae &Obst), Dr Israr ul Khaliq (Dental Surgeon).
The others Paramedical staff who made deployment in DH Rajouri without availability of posts who are Ashok Kumar and Mohd Hafiz (Head Pharmacists), Mohd Raiz, Zia Ud Din Mit and Mohd Younis (Senior Pharmacist), Ishtiaq Bhat, Tariq Dar and Nasir Dar (Junior Pharmacist), Mareed Akhter, Rubina Begum, Naseem Akhter, Sheraz Niazi and Sonu Sharma (FMPHW), Sheraz Ahmed (Junior Assistant), Jasvir Kour, Gurcharan Singh, Anjum Iqbal and Nabeed Anjum(Junior lab Tech), Mohd Shakoor and Arun Dogra (Senior Lab Tech), Shafiq Ahmed lone and Mustafa Kamal (Senior X ray tech), Mohd Iqbal (Head lab tech), Abdul Majid Naik (sr. Healthcare in shambles
Even as the District Hospital Rajouri has surplus staff, rural health institutions in the same district are facing acute shortage of doctors and paramedical staff. The top officials of the Health department have turned a blind eye towards the sufferings of common people to favour a few influential employees.

Three are attached at CMO office Rajouri who are Pardeep Vaid , Zaffer Iqbal and Mohd Aslam and three in Sub district hospital Sunderbani who are subash Chander Gupta, Vijay Kumar and Girdhari lal Sudan, two in Community health Centre Kandi and one in PHC Jamola who are Mohd Ayoub Lone, Mohd Khalid and Tanveer Hussain Mirza.
One consultant and three paramedical staff of Sub district hospital Nowshera who are Dr Liaqat Hussain and Suraj Parkash, Khadim Hussain, Gorav Raina who are also made their deployment without availability of posts.
Abdul Majid Bhat of Sub district hospital Darhal and others five of Primary health Centre Thanamandi including Nahida Khatoon, Mohd Shakeel , Hamid Arif, Sarfraz Khan and Mohd Nisar all are paramedical staff enjoying their choicest posting for years without availability of posts in these health institutions.
"Although Health Minister remains regularly active on social networking sites for showing his work in the field but it seems that he has deliberately turned his eye closed towards the genuine issue regarding posting of these employees who are enjoying their choicest posting for years. Shortage of staff in various primary health institutions inflates his tall claims of better improvement in health sector.
When contacted Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Gurjeet Singh said that districts hospitals have huge burden of patients, maybe district health officers have been adjusted them but he assured that he will check it.
