Col. Ranveer Singh donates cash award to Tawi Trekkers | | | Jammu, Oct 6: Col. Ranveer Singh Jamwal of Jammu, one of the top mountaineers of the country, who had recently received the J&K Govt. Award for Outstanding Sports Persons donated his cash award of Rs.50000/- to Tawi Trekkers on the foundation day of the club on 2nd October, 2021 J&K as a goodwill gesture to promote sport climbing among the budding climbers of the club. It may be mentioned here that Col. Jamwal was to be honoured by Tawi Trekkers J&K with “Duggar Gaurav Adventure Award” on the foundation day of the club on 2nd October, 2021 along with 10 other Everesters of Jammu but he could not attend the felicitation function because of his official duties. So, he transferred the award money of Rs. 50000/-amount to Tawi Trekkers. Nonetheless, Col. Jamwal shall be presented “Duggar Gaurav Adventure Award” by a high dignitary in person in a function to be organized shortly. Hailing from Barorhi, a village in district Samba, Col Jamwal who holds the unique record of summiting the Everest three times in 2012, 2013 and 2016 and the highest peaks of all the seven continents besides scaling of six 6000mtr peaks in Chile in just 10 days, is a highly decorated mountaineer of India. |
