Police rescues 16 bovine animals, held 2, seized 2 vehicles | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Apr 6: Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU, Ramban police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Sh.Anuj Kumar-IPS has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, arrested 02 bovine smugglers, rescued 16 bovines and seized two vehicles. A police team of Police station Ramban headed by SHO Ramban while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Shanpalace, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration JK 19A 5498, held one person namely Shabir Ahmed son of Nazir Ahmed resident of Bhatti, Govindpura Tehsil and District Ramban. During checking 07 bovines were found laden inside both the vehicles which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. Police Party of PS Ramsoo headed by SHO Ramsoo foiled a Bovine smuggling bid, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No JK 02AW 3519 and held 01 person namely Shakeel Ahmed son of Farooq Ahmed resident of Kokarnag, District Anantnag. During checking 09 bovines were found laden inside the two vehicles which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. As a result, a total of 16 bovine animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No. 73/2024 was registered at Police Station Ramban, FIR No. 44/2024 at PS Ramsoo under Sections 188 IPC, and under the Prevention of cruelty to Animals Act. The investigation has been initiated into these cases,02 persons arrested and 02vehicle involved in the commission of offence have been Seized. The successful rescue operation was conducted by Police parties led by SHO Police Station Ramban and SHO PS Ramsoo under the supervision of Dysp Hqrs Ramban, SDPO Banihal, Addl.SP Ramban, with the overall supervision by SSP Ramban. |
