Jammu, Apr 18: In the 4rth day of the on going National level Invitational Hockey Tournament today i.e.18th April 2024 three matches were played. The tournament is purely organised to uplift the level of hockey, which was earlier ailing due to lag in communication between people at helm of affairs and players fraternity. Furthermore, to channelizing the energy of youth towards making them fitness freak and to avoid drugs. In the first match Bhatinda XI defeated Power house Poonch by 8 goals to nil. Mr. Rahul of Bhatinda XI was awarded player of the match trophy for showing excellent skills, temperament throughout the match. Mr. Ajay Gupta Manager K.K Hakku stadium was the Chief Guest of the first match. The second match was played between Srinagar XI and Bandurakh Hockey Club Jammu in which Srinagar XI defeated Bandurakh by 6 goals to 2 goals. Player of match trophy was awarded to Mr Kanhiya for his good ball control and power of scoring the goals. Mr. Vinod Kumar, Editor in Chief JK Media were Chief guest and Mr. Chanan Singh Toor Head IK Bani Channel was Guest of honour on the occasion. The third and final match of the day between YB Hockey Club Sujjanpur and HFB NCR Sonipat Haryana was indeed a gripping encounter, with both teams putting up a tough fight to score. In the end, YB Hockey Club Sujjanpur managed to clinch victory with a solitary goal, showcasing their determination and skill on the field. Ashutosh, the goalkeeper of YB Hockey Club Sujjanpur , undoubtedly played a crucial role in securing the win and was rightfully awarded the title of Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. His exceptional saves and strategic positioning likely made a significant difference in the outcome of the game.
The presence of esteemed guests further added prestige to the occasion. Mr. Ajay Kumar, SP South City, Jammu, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Kartik Shrotriya (IPS), SDPO South, and Inspector Pankaj Sharma were honored as the Guests of Honour. Their attendance undoubtedly added to the significance of the match and underscored its importance within the sporting community.

It pertinent to mention here that this tournament is fully supported by high Level technical Delegation of Hockey India and dynamic assistance of Miss Anjali Thakur, Mr. Jagjit Singh (Coaches of J&K Sports Council) Miss Sonia and Miss Baljit Kour and S. Karanjit Singh , S. Jagjit Singh Youth Services and Sports.
