Samagam 2.0: IIM Jammu strengthens Alumni Bonds, announces formalization of Alumni Association

JAMMU, Jan 28: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu hosted its grand Alumni Reunion, "Samagam 2.0," on January 25-26, 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from alumni across different batches, including MBA, MBA (HA & HM), and EMBA graduates, alongside faculty and students.
The reunion began with a warm reception and a campus tour, allowing alumni to relive cherished memories and witness the institute's remarkable growth. The formal event commenced at the Patanjali Classroom with the lighting of the lamp by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu. A special video highlighting the institute's journey was also presented, celebrating its achievements over the years.
In his address, Prof. Sahay emphasized the importance of mutual expectations between alumni and the institute. He encouraged alumni to take pride in their association with IIM Jammu, foster a sense of belonging, and contribute toward the institute's growth. Prof. Sahay announced plans to formalize the IIM Jammu Alumni Association under the Society Act and launch regional Alumni Chapters in major cities across India, with dates to be revealed soon.
Dr. Vinod Durge, Associate Professor of Practice, presented a detailed roadmap for formalizing the Alumni Association. Prominent attendees included Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics; Dr. Ravij Seth; Prof. Pankaj Maheshwari; Prof. Prashant Mishra; and Dr. Muqbil Burhan, Chairperson of the Srinagar Campus, among others. Dr. Pradeep K. Tarei, Chairperson of Alumni Relations, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Jaganth G., Co-Chairperson of Alumni Relations, proposed the vote of thanks.
The event also featured engaging activities such as a leadership panel discussion, sports events, cultural performances, and networking sessions over meals. Alumni were invited to participate in the Republic Day celebrations and visit the transit campus at Canal Road, rekindling their connection with the institute.
The faculty shared their reflections on fostering strong alumni ties and the vital role collaboration plays in shaping the institute's future. The event highlighted IIM Jammu's vision of innovation, leadership, and excellence, underscoring its commitment to building a vibrant and engaged alumni network.
Organized by the Alumni Relations Committee, "Samagam 2.0" marks a significant milestone in IIM Jammu's journey toward a stronger, more collaborative alumni community.
