CBC organizes Swachhta Action Programme

SRINAGAR, Feb 3: The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Field Office Srinagar, organized An Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme under Swachhta Action Programme at the Community Hall in Chanapora, Srinagar today. The event, held in collaboration with the Chanapora Municipality, was aimed at raising awareness about the ongoing Swachhta Abhiyaan (Cleanliness Campaign) and promoting a clean and healthy lifestyle within the community.
The event saw active participation from local residents, social activists, sanitation workers, and resource persons from various departments. Resource persons from various departments delivered speeches on the importance of cleanliness, environmental preservation, and adopting hygienic practices for a sustainable future.
Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, Naseer Ahmad Rather, emphasized the role of the Swachhta Abhiyaan as a key initiative of the Central Government. He stated, "This programme was organized to further promote the initiatives under the Swachhta Action Plan, which has significantly inspired and motivated citizens to understand the importance of cleanliness in daily life." He said, the sanitation workers are the true heroes of our communities, who play a vital role in ensuring that our streets remain clean and healthy.
A Cleanliness Shramdhan activity was carried out by sanitation workers in various wards of the Chanapora Municipality. To support the efforts, dustbins, gloves, masks, sanitizers, brooms, and informative literature on the Swachhta Abhiyaan were distributed among participants, especially the sanitation workers.
Cultural troupes empanelled with CBC Srinagar presented entertaining skits highlighting the importance of maintaining cleanliness and contributing to a cleaner environment.
The event was attended by a large number of sanitation workers, sanitation inspectors, ward officers, and social activists who shared their commitment to keeping the localities clean and healthy.
Later, the sanitation workers also took out a rally promoting slogans of adopting a hygienic lifestyle. The participants also took a pledge to devote at least two hours a week for promoting cleanliness. The sanitation workers were also felicitated with certificates and mementoes for their contribution towards maintaining Swachhta.
