Early Times Report POONCH, Feb 6: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, and Mission Director JJM (J&K), Khursheed Ahmad Shah, convened a meeting today to review the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district. The discussion focused on ongoing civil works, project implementation challenges, and the organizational structure. During the meeting, the Xen Jal Shakti provided an update, revealing that out of 132 planned schemes, 30 have been successfully completed. The Mission Director stressed the need to accelerate ongoing projects, especially in remote and urban areas, to ensure equitable access to clean drinking water. Key components such as borewells, pipe networks, GSRs, and pump rooms were also reviewed. It was noted that 26 out of 112 mechanical works and 73 out of 97 electrical substation works have been completed. The Mission Director instructed officials to prioritize quality, timely execution, and rigorous supervision.
