Dr Razdan bereaved, Master Ji no more | | | Early Times Report
Jammu April 29: Satlal Razdan popularly known as Master Ji a multifaceted personality, a versatile genius, a poet, an essayist and columnist expired on today after his brief illness at his residence. He was father of eminent neurologist Dr Sushil Razdan. Born on 24th June 1924 in a modest home of kashmiri Pandit family at Anantnag, he graduated in science with distinction in 1945 from University of Lahore. He did his bachelor of teaching from Prince of Wales College Jammu in 1947. Equipped with professional degree he served for more than 40 years as a teacher in the Tyndale Biscoe School Srinagar. British council choose him for training in Scotland for full term in 1964. He saw to it that students under his command should excel intellectually at the academics physically at sports and spiritually in there morality. He has been a teacher of repute and personalities like Prince Charlse, Dr Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar, many judges , Jurists, Engineers and doctors have been under his tutelage . Master Ji was awarded best teacher of the millennium in December 1999 and his book Spirit and Science has been appreciated all over the state. After migration Master Satlal Razdan served at D.B.N Vidya Mandir Jammu in the capacity of science and maths teacher. He did proud to the institution by producing exemplary results and promoting all round performance among his students. No soul has been left untouched by his persona and may God rest him in peace.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condoled the sad demise of Sat Lal Razdan, a well known teacher of Tyndale Biscoe School, Srinagar and father of noted neurologist Dr. Sushil Razdan, who passed away early morning today after a brief illness. Paying rich tributes to Masterji, as he was fondly remembered, Abdullah said that he was a reformist who brought several innovative changes in the education sector making it more competitive and organized. He said that late Razdan will be long remembered for his pioneering work in the education sector and will continue to live in the hearts and minds of thousands of students he taught and who reached pivotal positions in different sectors. The Chief Minister extended sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. Masterji is survived by three daughters and a son. The cremation took place in the afternoon today at Bhagwati Nagar crematorium at Jammu where large number of people from cross-section of society bade a tearful farewell to Kashmir’s legendary teacher. Former Chief Minister and NC President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah has expressed deep shock over the demise of Master Sat Lal Razdan, reputed teacher.. In his condolence message, Dr. Abdullah said that he has been a taught of late Razdan, who was a devout teacher in Tyndale Biscoe School where he received his early education. He said that the void left by Masterji, as he was popularly known among his students, will be difficult to fill, adding the teachers of today should make educationists like him their role model. The former Chief Minister extended his heart-felt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
