Early Times Report NEW DELHI, Jan 24: The Department of International Business, Pondicherry University organised a Two Day National Seminar in association with Indian Council of Social Science Research, Southern Regional Centre, Hyderabad on" Potential for India's Export and Import Opportunities through Entrepreneurship and Start-ups". The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Prof. Bushan D. Sudhakar, Head (i/c), Department of International Business, Pondicherry University. This was followed by an address by Prof. P. G. Arul, Seminar Convener, who highlighted the objectives of the seminar and the growing relevance of entrepreneurship and start-ups in India's export-import landscape. Prof. P. Natarajan, Dean, School of Management, addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of entrepreneurship, start-ups, and innovation in driving economic growth and enhancing India's participation in global trade. Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Director, Studies, Educational Innovation and Rural Reconstruction, Pondicherry University, spoke on the importance of skill development, innovation, and academic-industry collaboration. Indian mind-set with regard to taking business risk and comparison with other countries. Emphasizing need to change in mind-set towards entrepreneurship and Start-ups. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Banavath Punnam Kumar, ITS, Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Southern Region, Chennai, who elaborated on export facilitation measures, government initiatives, and global market opportunities available for start-ups and MSMEs. Also specially highlighted Prime minister address on National Startup day and the achievement of 2 lakhs above registration in Startup India Portal. As part of the National Seminar Panel Discussion, brainstorming session and research papers presentation on specific themes related to export and import entrepreneurship and Startups were happened. Faculty members and research scholars from different parts of the country participated in the National seminar. Dr. K.
