CBJ detects huge misappropriation in Udhampur Food Store | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 14:Crime Branch Jammu on a complaint filed by Director CAPD Jammu has registered a case u/s 5(2) PC Act 2006 r/w section 420/465/467/468/471, 120-B of RPC and started investigation in the case. According to the FIR a letter duly forwarded by Director CAPD Jammu was received in Crime Branch Jammu alleging therein that on spot inspection of Food Store Udhampur by Senior Officers, huge quantity of food grains/ sugar were found short. Upon this a team of officers were constituted for physical verification of Food Store Udhampur to work out the actual shortage of food-grains/ sugar against the concerned store-keeper. The committee submitted its report on August 7, 2010 which revealed shortage of quantity of food-grain/ sugar, the cost of which worked out to tune of Rs 3506099 as per the present PDS Rates. Upon this Crime Branch Jammu registered case against Babu Ram then Incharge Store-Keeper food-store Udhampur that he misusing his official position and in conspiracy with other officials has misappropriated an amount of Rs 3506099/- thus causing huge loss to the state exchequer and the case was entrusted to DySP Adbul Wahid Giri for investigation. In another case of cheating Crime Branch registered a case on the complaint of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Bashir Ahmed Khan on allegation of fraudulent diploma acquired by some youths of Block Dadu and use of the same by them for the post of ReTs recently advertised by the Education Department. An enquiry was conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur who after receiving record from the CEO Udhampur submitted that there are some candidates who have applied for the post of ReT on the basis of degrees/ diploma certificates. The verification of the certificates/ mark sheets revealed that these have been issued by Higher Secondary Education Board Delhi which is neither established nor recognized by the Govt of India and is a fake board. Further some marks sheets are issued by some Govt Higher Secondary School Latti (dhuna) on the letter head of National Institute of Open School Noida. On the basis of this enquiry Crime Branch registered a case against the accused persons involved, prima-facie constitute offences u/s 420, 465, 468, 471, 120-B RPC and started investigation. JNF
