9/14/2010 10:06:01 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sep 14: The activists of Panun Kashmir organized a protest rally to observe the “Martyrs Day” at press club here today.
The purpose of the rally was to pay tributes to the martyrs and register protest against alleged failure of the Government to provide justice to the community, besides its failure to fight terrorism.
Panun Kashmir pledged to intensify their struggle for creation of Homeland and oppose all those propositions aim at weakening the genuine and integrity of the country amid chanting of slogans.
Earlier, Panun Kashmir activists started the rally from Purkhoo camp and were joined by a large number of people at press club.
Addressing the rally, chairman Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrungoo said they were victims of the turmoil in Kashmir. They knew it better than anybody else of the motives of separatists in the state.
He further said the martyrs were testimony of struggle against intolerance. Let us proclaim today that Pandits would not be part of any process which tries to hide culture of intolerance unleashed in the valley.
General Secretary Panun Kashmir, Kuldip Raina demanded that the employment package should be de-linked from return and implemented at the earliest as the community could not afford to make the future of the youth hostage to the whims of the inimical forces.
Panun Kashmir convener Dr. Agnishekhar while paying homage and floral tributes to Martyrs along with Swami Kumar ji, Swami Pran Nath Bhat Garib ji, Swami Dada ji, Dr. Man-Mohan Jyotshi and P.L.Badgami on the banks of River Tawi said that policy makers and state of India are unaware of the storm that will sweep the valley if present inept handling and weak kneed policy as usual continues.
Panun Kashmir is of the firm view that the political class of the nation has been following a policy of retreat and appeasement of separatist forces in Kashmir and abandoning nationalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir state. Dr. Agnishekhar warns the Government in Delhi of mere adhocism in tackling situation in Kashmir. Preposterous and dangerous prepositions of the unique solutions to unique problems, putting the question mark on accession of J&K state with union of India has been hallmark of the present government of Delhi.
A handful of so called cabinet committee on security’s weak and ambivalent formulations is fraught with dangerous consequences. The fate of one billion people of this nation is directly linked to Kashmir being integral part of India.
Dr. Agnishekhar asked GOI that opportune time has come for creation of a Union Territory in Kashmir valley for over seven lakh Kashmiri Pandits to save sovereignty of India and Kashmir..
Floral tributes and homage was paid to Kashmiri Hindu Martyrs and Security forces who laid their lives for unity, integrity and sovereignty of this nation.
