KISHTWAR, Sept. 14: The shut down call given by majority community at Kishtwar as a mark of protest over the alleged disrespect of holy Quram , although passed peacefully, but a procession was held that raised pro-freedom slogans which passed through Jamia Masjid, Bus Stand.
However, on reaching near police station Kishtwar it was interrupted by the police and not allowed to move a head, resulting which the mob restored to heavy stone pelting over the police .

Haseeb Mughal S.P. Kishtwar while talking to Early Times correspondent said that the police and district administration have intelligence inputs that some miscreants within mob were planning to indulge in looting of shops and destroying the government property while trying to create the communal tension in area.
As a part of this the people gathered in groups and raised pro-freedom slogans. On the inputs recieved the fool proof security arrangements were made as the protesters started the same process as they had done earlieron August 12 , but their nefarious design were foiled by the police and district administration.
Mughal further said that the irresponsible persons who instigated for the protest by making provocative announcement will be booked and taken into task. The timely action of police have compelled them to make subsequent announcements requesting the protesters to return their houses.
The band call was announced by the majority community last night through an announcement from all mosques, and the peoples were requested to mark a peaceful resentment over the disrespect of holy Quran .
The district police, administration , security forces and intelligence agencies at Kishtwar held a meeting last night to chalk out the plan for tackling the situation . Since Kishtwar district is having equal population of both communities, the chances of group clash always remain their, and police as well as administration does not want to take any risk , so in order to avoid such incident the police had already erected the obstructions on main road by using wire barricades at various places to stop the mob. The vehicular movement was not allowed, heavy deployment of police was placed on road and all streets of Kishtwar town.
As the police fired smoke shells, the panic griped in Kishtwar and people started running hither and thither, besides expressing their worries remembering the previous episode of group clash which occurred during year 2008.
The other community also shut down their business establishments, and at various places the members of both the communities were seen together sharing their worries. The people have appreciated the role of police and administration and urged upon them to locate the trouble shooters and book them, so that the general public of both the communities may not suffer through their nefarious design, because Kishtwar has its own history of communal harmony and brotherhood .
The wise men from both the communities have extended their full support to police for coming heavily over the miscreants who wanted to disturb the communal harmony at Kishtwar.
Meanwhile the peaceful protests were conducted at Drabshalla and Thathri area also by the people of particular community.
