| NC condemns desecration of holy book | | | Early Times Report
BANIHAL, Sept 14: National Conference leader Sajjad Shaheen has strongly condemned desecration of Holy Quran by Pastor Terry Jones of Florida USA.
In a handout issued here today, Sajjad has said that this shameful act has hurt sentiments of Muslims living all over the world. He said such acts cannot harm Quran or Islam as Quran is in the hearts and minds of one and a half billion people of the world. He said that this criminal, inhuman and shameful act by the pastor has sent shock waves across the world.
Shaheen has called upon the State and Central governments to take serious note of the United States pastor’s act and lodge a strong protest with the American government. Shaheen appealed people, particularly the youth to exercise restraint and maintain calm as some vested interests are out to disturb peace, amity and tranquility in the state.
