Army Ordinance Corps to celebrate reunion | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: Army Ordnance Corps (AOC), which provides material support comprising of Weapons, Ammunition, Vehicles, Technical Equipment and Clothing to the Indian Army, is celebrating the 9th AOC Reunion at Secunderabad in December 2010. To commemorate the event, HQ Northern Command planned for and has launched a Cycling expedition from Jindrah to Baralachala Pass (16045 feet) via the Rohtang Pass. The expedition was flagged off at Jindrah today by Maj. Gen AV Balakrishnan. Expedition, comprising of two Officers and 18 Other Ranks, will travel through J&K, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh covering a distance of 615 km over a period of 21 days. 250 km of the route, will be in high altitude terrain, ranging from 9000 to 16050 feet. The expedition is self contained and has been planned to the minutest detail. Physically challenging and demanding very high levels of endurance, the expedition members having trained hard to ensure its success.
