| Deputation of project Defence Colony calls on DDC | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Sept 14: A delegation of the Management of Sainik Co-Operative House Building Society Ltd Jammu, led by its Chairman, Col KS Padwal (Retd) meet Deputy Commissioner, Samba today and briefed him about the establishment of Defence Colony Jammu for Serving/ Ex-Service and Women of Defence Service. It was brought to his notice that these persons can not afford to buy plots for their housing, since the price in the market is out of their reach. It was explained that the site for the Colony has been selected near Mile Stone 16-17 on National Highway from Jammu which is non agriculture and non productive land, under the ownership of villagers. By establishing a colony these villages will be economically up lifted and their waste land will be a modern colony. A blue print of Project was also presented to the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner Samba promised all help for the establishment of purposed Defence Colony and assured all the help for the project of Defence Colony.
