AIKS remembers KP martyrs | | | Early Times report Jammu, Sept 14: All India Kashmir Samaj, Udhampur branch paid florid tributes to Kashmiri Pandit martyrs here today. Shradhaanhjali meet two minutes silence was observed in memory of the martyrs in Sharika Bhawan followed by religious discourses. Swami Sudarshan Das of international society of Krishna consciousness recited the shlokas from the holy Geeta, while Shiban Ji, a well known social activist, threw a detailed light on the importance and background of observing the martyrs day. Later on the Ghats of Devika considered to be the elder sister of River Ganges a Samohik Tarpan was given a religiously to the martyrs under the guidance of religious scholars. Addressing the gathering Ravi Tickoo stressed on the need of unanimity on some areas where there is no disagreement among various Kashmiri Pandit organizations. Earlier an emotional poem written on the blood of martyrs was read by Mohan Lal Koul which left the eyes tearful. Arun Jasrotia state vice president supporting the Kashmiri Pandit cause lauded the role of Kashmiri Pandits. Despite being in displacement the community has not forgotten its leaders and other members who were gunned down by the terrorists. He assured full support to AIKS for any programme in future. Ashwani in his address Bhat said that it is high time to remember the sacrifices of our dear ones and explore our strengths which can be canalized to fulfill their dreams. Kashmiri Pandits leaders in Kashmir and other members martyred their lives for a cause and we should not dishonor them by our divisions and mushrooming of organizations. He appealed to the youth to come forward and perform a significant role in our struggle. Prime minister of India is willing to give autonomy to appease the separatists while as even our basic rights have not been looked into he said.
