| 3 bootleggers held, lahan destroyed | | | JAMMU: Police today arrested three bootleggers in Miran Sahib, Bishnah and RS Pura and destroyed illicit liquor seized from them.
Police sources said Kewal Kumar, son of Sardari Lal of Kotli Charakan was held in a raid conducted by Miran Sahib police led by SHO Sunil Jasrotia.
From his possession, 31 bottles of illicit liquor were seized, the sources added.
In another raid, Bishnah police station SHO B R Bhagat held two women bootleggers -- Kashmiro Devi, wife of Mela Ram of Makhanpur, and Ayodhya Devi, wife of Bachan Lal.
From Kashmiro's possession, 1,000 lt lahan was recovered and destroyed on the spot. 101 pouches of illicit liquor were also recovered from her. From the possession of Ayodhya, police recovered 50 lt lahan which was later destroyed.
Illicit liquor was also seized from RS Pura. |
