Home deptt clears promotion of 7 top police officers | | | Sumit Sharma EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jun 17: Home department is all set to promote three Inspector Generals of Police to Additional Director Generals of Police and four Senior Superintendents of Police to Deputy Inspector Generals of Police. Sources with in Home department informed that promotion of three Inspector Generals of Police SP Vaid, Naveen Agarwal and Dollay is on cards and they are likely to be promoted as Additional Director Generals of Police soon. Trio is of 1986 batch, Sources said that the formalities related to their promotions have been completed. IGP SP Vaid is presently on deputation to BPR&ND, Dolly is posted as IGP Headquarters in PHQ and Naveen Agarwal is performing his duty as IGP Railways. Sources also maintained that with the order of sending, Gopal S Reddy, to Andhra Pradesh on five years deputation, the post of ADG security is now lying vacant which is to be filled after imminent promotions. Sources further revealed that besides promotion of 3 IGPs to ADGPs, State Home Department which was also considering the promotions of four SSPs of 97 batch to the rank of DIGs has cleared the desks for them. The names of these four officers have been approved in Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). The decision in this connection was taken in a meeting of DPC which was held today under the chairmanship of BR Sharma, Home Commissioner. Sources disclosed the names of these officers as Surinder Kumar Gupta, presently posted as SSP Udhampur, SSP Ghulam Ahmed Dar, presently posted in Passport office Srinagar, SSP A.K Attri, posted as S.O to IGP Jammu and Johny William. William is serving as SSP Crime Branch, Jammu at present. |
