GDC Gool, Indian Army organizes for plantation drive | | | Early Times Report GOOL, May 29: The NSS Unit of GDC Gool and "Green Gool Eco-Club," in collaboration with the Indian Army 58 RR, successfully organized a plantation drive on May 29th, 2023, at the army camp adjacent to the college campus. The event witnessed the participation of 30 NSS volunteers, along with the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Karan Singh, Prof. Mohd Younus Saleem (NSS Programme Officer), and Prof. Gopal Singh. The students were provided transportation by the Army for their convenience. During the drive, more than 10 saplings of Deodar and Saru were planted, contributing to the region's afforestation efforts. Major Sunil Bhardwaj addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of afforestation and promoting women's education. Volunteers Mehbooba Sultan and Saddam Hussain expressed their concerns regarding the detrimental effects of deforestation.
