JKNC Leaders Celebrate Gopal Ashtami

Jammu, Nov 9: In a heartwarming gesture that underlined the importance of compassion and tradition, senior leaders of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), led by Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu Province of JKNC, visited Gaushalla Amphalla on the auspicious occasion of Gopal Ashtami.
During their visit, Rattan Lal Gupta and the National Conference delegation actively engaged in serving and caring for the cows at the Gaushalla, demonstrating a hands-on commitment to the humane treatment of animals.
Notably, the auspicious Gopal Ashtami, celebrated as a day of reverence for Lord Krishna and his divine association with cows, holds special significance in preserving the cultural fabric of Jammu & Kashmir.
Mahant Raj Kumar Gupta, President of Gau Shalla Jammu, elaborated on the spiritual and cultural significance of Gopal Ashtami. He highlighted that the festival serves as a reminder of the virtues of kindness, service, and reverence toward animals, which were central to Lord Krishna’s teachings.
Mahant Gupta also expressed gratitude for the NC leaders’ visit, acknowledging their support in spreading awareness about animal welfare and the conservation of traditional values.
Rattan Lal Gupta said, “Our culture places great emphasis on compassion, and Gopal Ashtami is a significant occasion that reminds us of our responsibility toward animals and nature. The National Conference remains committed to fostering these values and supporting initiatives that preserve and celebrate our rich cultural heritage.” The visiting NC leaders reaffirmed their dedication to maintain such traditional practices, emphasizing the importance of community service, heritage, and respect for all forms of life.
Among those who visited Gaushalla included: Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Provincial Secretary Jammu, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli Chairman OBC Cell, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Vijay Laxmi Datta Sr leader, Rita Gupta, Dilshad Malik Vice Presidents Central Zone, Ashwani Charak Block President Jammu East, Vicky Thakur, Bablu Pandit, Ashanand District Joint Secretary Jammu Urban and others.
