Karra chairs review meeting of senior leaders

JAMMU, Nov 12: JKPCC Chief Shri Tariq Hameed Karra today chaired a review cum preparatory meeting of the party to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, besides Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi & the Constitution Day.
The meeting was attended by Senior leaders, former ministers/ EX- legislators, DCC Presidents, frontal wings & Ex Corporators. Working presidents Tara Chand & Raman Bhalla were also present.
The meeting decided to celebrate the birth Anniversary of first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on Nov 14th, Birth Anniversary of Smt. Indira Gandhi on November 19th and the Constitution Day on November 26th in a befitting manner.
The function to celebrate Pt. Nehru Jayanti on November 14th, will be held at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chownk Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, PCC chief asked the party leaders & workers to gear up their activities in the wake of ULB & panchayat elections in near future & assured them to strengthen the grass root committees, block committee, district committees with induction of right & dedicated & committed workers at all levels. He said that working of committees shall be reviewed and the committees at all levels shell be reconstituted & to further Strengthen them.
He said that till new committees are constituted, the existing district & block committees shall continue to function & asked them to gear up their activities in respective areas .
He said that second line leadership shall be encouraged and promoted based on merit & said that there shall no favoritism or bias in giving opportunities to work in the organization.
Karra also said that a campaign shall be launched & series of programs shall be initiated to revive & strengthen the basic ideology of the party and said that the idea of INDIA is the India of congress, so revival of idea of congress means strengthen INDIA.
