Early Times Report BISHNAH, Nov 14: The Department of Zoology at Govt Degree College Bishnah organized a poster-making competition to highlight the dangers of drug abuse as a major public health issue. Held in the Zoology lab, the event welcomed students from all semesters to showcase their artistic and conceptual take on this critical concern. A total of 10 students from the science stream participated, presenting compelling artwork that emphasized the risks and social impacts of substance abuse. The competition was judged by Dr. Sania Hamid, HOD Botany, and Dr. Kusum, HOD Punjabi. The first prize was awarded to Ariba Ansari, while Neharika Charak took second place. The third prize was shared between Mohd Asif and Rinkal Kumari. Dr. Vasudha Chaudhari, Head of the Department, addressed the participants on the severe health consequences of drug abuse, stressing the need for prevention, treatment, and support systems. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ashma Gupta, Assistant Professor in Zoology, under the leadership of the college's Principal, Dr. Shallu Samyal. |
