Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Nov 14: The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) marked Children's Day with a vibrant celebration at St. Joseph's Convent School, Chowki Chora, in collaboration with Government Primary School, Ladheri. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, and the local community for a day filled with interactive activities and a strong environmental message. The celebrations included a series of engaging competitions, such as drawing and painting, sack races, spoon and lemon races, fancy dress contests, and debate competitions, allowing students to showcase their talents and creativity in a fun-filled atmosphere.
One of the major highlights of the day was the large-scale plantation drive organized by SGWF. Students, teachers, and parents actively participated in planting saplings, reinforcing the foundation's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The drive emphasized the importance of nurturing the environment for future generations.
Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF, spoke about the significance of Children's Day, highlighting the role of children as vital contributors to society. She emphasized the foundation's mission to inspire young minds to become environmental stewards, with plantation drives serving as a powerful tool to instill a lifelong appreciation for nature.
Reeta Verma, National President of SGWF, also addressed the gathering, sharing the success of the 'Adopt a Tree' campaign, which has brought communities together to care for thousands of trees. She stressed that today's children are tomorrow's custodians of the environment, and involving them in such initiatives was key to fostering a sustainable future.
Makhani Devi, General Secretary of SGWF, encouraged both students and parents to take an active role in environmental protection. She expressed gratitude to the SGWF team and school staff for their efforts in making the event a success, noting the enthusiasm shown by the students for nature.
The event also featured a rally through the Chowki Chora bazaar, where students carried banners advocating for environmental protection, spreading awareness throughout the community about the importance of sustainability.
Through this celebration, SGWF continues to fulfill its mission of combining education with environmental activism, empowering communities to contribute to a healthier, greener planet for future generations.
