Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 14: The grand finale of *Yuvtarang 2024-25, an exuberant youth festival organized by the Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, under the patronage of Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Sr. Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, took place at M.A.M College Jammu with an electrifying valedictory ceremony today. This annual event, widely anticipated by students across colleges and PG Schools of the University, celebrated a vibrant display of talent, creativity, and sportsmanship, making it one of the most successful youth festivals to date. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Shri Suresh Kumar Gupta (IFS), Principal Secretary to the Government of J&K Department of Culture as Chief Guest, along with distinguished Guests of Honour: Padma Shri Balwant Thakur (eminent theatre artist), Padma Shri Rajendar Tiku (visual artist and sculptor), and Padma Shri Romlao Ram (folk artist), Smt. Trishla Kundal, Special Secretary, Department of Culture, J&K, also attended the function. In his address, Suresh Kumar Gupta praised the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment, highlighting the importance of such festivals in nurturing talent and fostering unity among the youth. He encouraged the students to carry forward the friendships and skills developed during Yuvtarang into their future endeavors. Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu, in his presidential address, described Yuvtarang as "more than just a festival." He emphasized that the event serves as a platform for students to explore their creative potential, connect with peers, and celebrate cultural diversity. The ceremony began with an inspiring welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University Jammu, who outlined the vision of Yuvtarang as a celebration of student talent in creative, literary, and performing arts. The festival saw fierce competition in various categories. In the *Folk Group Dance competition Government College for Women Gandhinagar secured the first position, with Maulana Azad Memorial College and SPMR College taking second and third places, respectively. |
