J&K police Kathua observes Thana Diwas

KATHUA, Nov 15: In line with its Public Outreach Programme, Thana Diwas was observed across all Police Stations in Kathua district to address public grievances, strengthen police-public relations, and bridge the gap between law enforcement and local communities.
The programme commenced at Revaz Palace, Lakhanpur, chaired by SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saksena, along with DySP DAR Kathua, Subash Chander, SHO PS Lakhanpur, Insp. Tribhawan Khajuria, and other officials. Over 50 local residents, including Ravinder Sharma, Ex-MC Chairman Lakhanpur, Sunny Sharma, President Youth Federation Lakhanpur, and other PRIs and senior citizens, attended. Participants raised concerns about drug-related issues, bovine smuggling, and theft incidents, with police assuring prompt action and urging public cooperation to maintain law and order.
The Thana Diwas programme continued at other locations across the district, including:
PP Industrial Estates, Hatli: Chaired by Addl. SP Kathua, Rahul Charak, with over 70 participants.
Sherpur, PS Hiranagar: Chaired by SP Ops. Kathua, Nasir Khan and SDPO Border.
RC Palace Khoo Blassain, PS Rajbagh: Chaired by DySP PC Kathua and SHO PS Rajbagh.
PS Billawar: Chaired by SDPO Billawar and SHO PS Billawar, with a gathering of 80-90 people.
PS Basohli: Chaired by SP Ops. Upper Kathua/Kandi, and SDPO Basohli.
PP Kindli, PS Malhar: Chaired by SHO PS Malhar.
Throughout these meetings, citizens raised concerns like drug menace, traffic congestion, lack of manpower in industrial areas, stray cattle, and identification of strangers. Officers immediately addressed these concerns and issued directions for resolution.
SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saksena urged the public to cooperate with the police and administration in maintaining peace and identifying anti-social elements. The initiative was widely appreciated by the public for its role in prompt grievance redressal and improving police-public relations.
