SED defies Govt order, asks teachers to attend duties everyday | | | Early Times Reports
Jammu, Aug 24: Taking diametrically opposite position and trashing latest government order the School Education Department (SED) has directed teachers to attend schools daily to take community and online classes from the schools, which obviously means by physically sitting in the schools premises. Referring to the Govt Order, the sources informed that all the education institutions/coaching centres including schools shall continue to remain closed for on-site or in-person teaching till further order as, however, the Educational institutions are permitted to seek personal attendance of vaccinated staff only for administrative purposes, they added. The sources further informed that instead of fully complying with the government order issued amidst impending danger of third Corona pandemic wave, the School Education, ignoring govt orders, has ordered all teachers to attend schools daily where teachers will hold community classes or deliver online from their schools. The sources said that calling school teachers to attend schools on daily basis can become a cause of spreading Corona infection in schools as there would be every likelihood of the teachers proving as Corona infection carriers by shuttling daily through local transportations to attend schools for taking community classes of students or online classes from the premises of schools. According to the order allowing personal attendance of vaccinated staff only for administrative purposes does not at all empower the Department of School Education to arbitrarily call all the teachers to attend schools physically to take community classes or online classes from the schools. This apparently makes mockery of the government order with School Education Department taking entirely different line of action disregarding the letter and spirit of the government order. |
