Even after 70-yrs of independence Jourian Mata temple has no road connectivity | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 6: Pilgrims visiting Jourian Mata temple in Bani area are facing immense hardships in absence of proper road connectivity. According to the figures available with Early Times from Monday to Wednesday 1500 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the temple. “It’s unfortunate that for the past seventy years no government paid any attention towards constructing a road leading to Jourian Mata temple,” said a devotee. He said that every year he visits the temple during Navarataras. “Probably this is the only temple in Jammu region where no vehicles can reach and people have to cover the treacherous terrain on foot to reach the temple.” According to the members of the Mandir Committee, had the government developed the road connectivity, lakhs of devotees could have visited the temple. “We urge the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and direct the concerned officials to build a road leading to the temple,” the members said. |
