Early Times Report
RS PURA, Feb 7: In an effort to promote road safety awareness among students and the general public, Government College R. S. Pura organized a comprehensive awareness program under the banner of the Viksit Bharat@2047 initiative. The event, spearheaded by the NSS and NCC units of the college, garnered significant participation and support from students and faculty members.
Dr. Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed Principal of the college, presided over the program as the chief guest. She commended the organizing team for their proactive initiative in sensitizing individuals about the importance of road safety, particularly amidst rising concerns regarding road accidents.
The formal proceedings began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Rakesh Choudhary, ANO NCC boys, who elucidated the purpose and significance of road safety awareness initiatives. Stressing on the lack of knowledge among the populace, especially the youth, regarding road safety protocols, he highlighted the critical role such programs play in mitigating road accidents.
Subsequently, Prof. Shifali Abrol, Associate Professor of Zoology, shared insights into road safety guidelines, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to traffic signals, speed limits, and carrying essential documents while driving. Prof. Sankait Gupta, HOD Computer Application, delved into the intricacies of traffic rules, elucidating proper turning techniques, parking etiquettes, and the significance of indicators.
The program also included a solemn pledge ceremony wherein students and faculty members vowed to uphold road safety regulations and propagate awareness among their circles. Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, Nodal Officer of Viksit Bharat, efficiently steered the proceedings of the event. The presence of esteemed faculty members including Prof. Shelly Kalsi, Dr. Hari Singh, and Prof. Vishal Sharma added gravitas to the occasion, reinforcing the collective commitment towards fostering a safer road environment.
Through such initiatives, Government College R. S. Pura continues to demonstrate its dedication to holistic education and community welfare, envisioning a future where road safety is prioritized and accidents are minimized.
