Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 27: As the battleground of the ongoing electoral battle has shifted in the Hindu-majority Jammu region Congress changed its strategy, and leaders of the party started raking up pro-Jammu and pro-Dogra issues.
Change of pro-Jammu and pro-Dogra stance of the Congress party was witnessed today during a rally at Khour which was scheduled to be addressed by the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
Although Rahul Gandhi could not reach the spot due to bad weather, Congress leaders in the rally tried their best to rake up the pro-Jammu issue.
It was the first time during the election rallies of the Congress party that leaders from the stage vociferously shouted the “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” slogans.
Not only these slogans were shouted from the stage but the same were also responded to with full sound by the audience and enthusiasm.
During the rally at Khour, one of the speakers named as Dilawar shouted the slogan of “Jai Shri Ram” while concluding his speech. He thrice shouted “Jai Shri Ram” and the reaction of the people present at the rally was over-enthusiastic. He also shouted the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai in the same voice.
Earlier Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogans are usually heard in the rallies of the BJP and now the same slogans are also raised by the Congress leaders, that too from the stage in the presence of senior leaders.

g the gathering Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir has strongly criticized the BJP-controlled administration for scrapping the Dogra certificate, which was a vital document for the people of Jammu.
“This certificate provided priority in recruitment to the Army and police, and even offered relaxation in height and chest requirements for Jammu's youth”, he said, adding, “However, the BJP's decision has snatched away these benefits, leaving the people of Jammu feeling marginalized”
Mir emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir was historically a Dogra state, founded by the Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh.
“Unfortunately, the BJP's actions have downgraded the state's status to a Union Territory. Moreover, the BJP has also undermined the State Subject, a concept introduced by Maharaja Hari Singh to protect the rights of Jammu and Kashmir's residents”, he said.
"The BJP's actions are a betrayal of the trust placed in them by the people of Jammu and Kashmir," Mir said. "By scrapping the Dogra certificate and downgrading the state's status, they have shown utter disregard for our history, culture, and identity." He urged the people to join hands and defeat the BJP in the upcoming elections, sending a strong message that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will no longer tolerate such injustices.
Mir's statement resonates with the sentiments of the Yuva Rajput Sabha, which has also condemned the BJP's decision to scrap the Dogra certificate.
