Agencies GOA, Nov 23: The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has embraced inclusivity under the theme Sabka Manoranjan. At a press conference, Shri Prithul Kumar, MD NFDC, and officials highlighted initiatives such as sign language interpretation, accessible screenings, barrier-free venues, sensitivity-trained staff, and innovative digital tools like the Movie Buff app. With six films dedicated to persons with disabilities and 11 others made accessible, Shri Kumar emphasized the government's commitment to inclusivity in cinema. Goa's Secretary for Disabilities, Shri Taha I. Haaziq, praised the state's leadership in accessibility and the efforts to make IFFI a model event. Accessibility partner Svayam played a pivotal role, conducting audits, training volunteers, and introducing a Tech Pavilion Simulation Zone to enhance empathy and inclusive design. IFFI 2024 reflects a collaborative push towards entertainment for all. |
