SPPND GDC Samba celebrates World Human Rights Day | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Dec 11: NSS unit "Maitri" of SPPND Government Degree College, Samba, successfully organized a One-day Yoga Session on the occasion of World Human Rights Day to emphasize the importance of health and well-being as fundamental human right. Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri highlighted the need of inculcating Yoga in daily lifestyle as a holistic approach that focuses on harmony between body and mind. A special Yoga session was conducted by Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Medical Officer, Government Accidental Hospital, Ghagwal to underline the significance of physical and mental wellness in ensuring a dignified life. He highlighted that Yoga helps to relieve stress, increase flexibility and improve overall well-being of individual. About 40 NSS volunteers participated in the event. This event brought together students and staff to engage in yoga activities promoting the idea that good health is a universal right. The whole event was coordinated by NSS Programme Officer Prof. Kamlesh Bala in coordination with Prof. Papinder Bhagat, Convener, N-Cord Committee and Pardeep, PTI. This initiative reflects the college's commitment in fostering a comprehensive understanding of human rights among students, thereby empowering them to contribute towards a healthier society. |
