Private schools openly violating "Minimum Wages Act"
5/8/2014 11:15:12 PM
Sanjeev Verma

Kathua, May 8: The menace of exploitation of private school teachers is on peak in most of the private schools in Kathua town as the labour department and state Government both seem to be mum and handicapped.
The role of labour department to check the "wages package" which is Rs.175 as a minimum wage per day of these teachers is negligible that encouraged the private school owners to continue their exploitative approaches and rules to suck the blood of hard working educated youth who are working as teachers in these private educational institutes. It is found that most of the private schools are openly violating the "Minimum Wages Act" and the economic condition of teachers is more terrifying than it is often expected and that led the job sleazy.
The owners of these private schools are accumulating huge money day by day by creating so many illusions of imparting the best education to the wards of the people but it has been exposed that most of these private schools have turned biggest exploiter of both students as well as the well educated teachers which are being given job in their schools at meager wages that is not only causing the violation of Minimum Wages Act but also committing a criminal offence of violation of human rights and misguiding the innocent parents and their wards.
Most of the private school owners are successfully managing exaggerated projection of their schools facilities and standard education to allure the parents and even the inspections of these schools by the education department is also a biggest foul play by throwing the dust into the eyes of parents. If the wages of the school teachers are under the influence of great violation of minimum wages Act by the owners of private schools, not only class work but also the clerical works are done by the teachers through the pressure of school management, and the students who are being enrolled with promise to give them standard education are found incapable to exhibit the values of educations and even the understandings of concepts of their syllabus.
In this worst and objectionable conditions how the inspection committees have notified the schools and how they continue their permission to run the schools is a bigger question?Such are the questions which are irritating to the parents who are making hard efforts with a dream to have a prosperous future of their wards. It is biggest challenge before the Omar Abdullah, a Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir to root out the biggest and terrifying corrupt practices and culture established by some Private school owners by taking a hard and strict step against them. And more important than this is to upgrade the education system with development of latest technology of Infrastructural Development in Govt Schools, so that a best alternative of the corrupt private schools could be given to the people.
