Jammu, Sept 26: While Education Minister Naeem Akhter has time and again emphasized not to transfer teachers in the mid-session, the Chief Education Officer Kathua has reportedly ordered several transfers in the last one and half months, in the middle of current academic session. "Students from down trodden sections are enrolled in government schools and teachers face lot of difficulties to plan the teaching practices according to the comprehension level of students", a teacher said, adding that the teacher makes his plans, taking one complete session in mind but if you transfer any teacher in the middle of session, he/she would have to face difficulties in the new school besides the students would also face problems with the new teacher. A teacher engaged in district Kathua said that transferring teachers in middle of session was also the violation of transfer policy. "Half of syllabus was completed, when transfers were ordered by CEO office Kathua, which will definitely affect the final result of students", the teacher said. The teachers further said that every transferred teacher didn't join his/her new place of posting and moved to court and many secured stay against his/her transfer. "In the clash between the department and the teachers, the students of government schools suffer", he said. On 19th of September, a transfer order issued by CEO Kathua, has been circulating on social networking sites, according to which nearly 200 teachers have been transferred/adjusted but the authenticity of the order was still unknown as CEO has not formally issued any such order. "But if the order is issued by CEO, then it is another violation", another teacher said, adding that Education Minister Naeem Akhter must take cognizance of the matter and take action against the CEO for ordering mid-session transfers. CEO Kathua, Balbir Singh could not be contacted for details. |
