Early Times Report

Jammu, July 9: The J&K SLET Agency of Kashmir University has so far failed to declare the result of State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) after lapse of four months since the test was conducted by the Agency. On one hand the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) which has been conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET), is reducing the time of announcing results, the Kashmir University has increased the time of announcing results. The JKSLET Agency of University of Kashmir had conducted the written test of SLET on March 11, 2018 and on March 19, it had uploaded the answer keys of 37 subjects on their official website. They had sought queries from the candidates regarding the keys and had asked the candidates to submit their objections along with supporting documents till April 5, 2018.
The Agency uploaded modified answer keys on 25th of May 2018 and also asked the candidates, if any candidate had any objections with the modified keys, s/he had to send the objections with authentic documentary evidence on May 26th and 27th. It was maintained by JKSET Agency would not accept any objection after that. But it was nearly one and half month, since JKSET Agency has received all the objections against the modified keys but result has not been declared. "CBSE has been improving its performance of conducting and announcing results and last time it had declared the results within two months after the exams but JKSET Agency of KU has been degrading in its performance by increasing the days of announcing results", an official said, adding that time and again the officials took the shield of turmoil in Kashmir for their every failure but in Kashmir University premises there situation remained normal most of the time. Coordinator of JKSET Agency Prof. Irshad Ahmad Nawchoo said that results have already been finalized and they have been waiting for the UGC nominated team.
"UGC nominated a team comprising of several Vice Chancellors and other members, which held a meeting at KU and assessed the results. After their decision, the result will be declared", Prof. Nawchoo said.
