Jammu, May 15: Although he defended the decision of the party high command not to field any candidate on three Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir Valley, president of J&K BJP Ravinder Raina on Wednesday said: “Had I contested on the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, no one could have stopped me from the winning this Parliamentary segment”. Raina, however, said that the decision taken by the central leadership was in the interest of the nation as well as in the party. “Our national leadership including Home Minister Amit Shah and our party president JP Nadda have more experience than us so they have taken a wise decision”, he said, adding, “It is part of our strategy not to field any candidate on three Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir Valley”. Meanwhile, the BJP has intensified its campaign in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri without officially declaring support for any candidate or party on this Parliamentary segment. National general secretary of BJP and incharge of J&K Tarun Chugh also joined the campaign in the Pir Panchal range. |
