Udhampur, Jan 25: Police team of Police Station Majalta, while performing routine naka checking near PHE Filter Plant, Majalta, intercepted a Maruti Van bearing registration number JK02BX-8044 coming from Baryalta towards Majalta.
During checking, the driver identified himself as Jonny Abrol S/o Jia Lal R/o Thalora Manwal, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur.
On personal search, heroin (chitta) was recovered from his possession.
Further checking of two other occupants namely Neeraj Sharma S/o Joginder Pal R/o Manwal (Dhoon), Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu and Chiman Lal S/o Subash Chander R/o Lunka Pani Sehal, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur also led to recovery of heroin from their personal possession.
In total, 12.84 grams of heroin was recovered from all the three accused persons.
Accordingly, FIR No. 08/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation is in progress
