Govt restores SMS facility in Kashmir, says Big No to Mobile Internet in Jammu | Jammuites, silent sufferers even on New Year eve | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 31: As the government is lifting curbs on SMS facility in Kashmir from midnight besides restoring internet to Kashmir hospitals, the authorities stoically remained mute over restoring internet services in Jammu.
Even on the eve of new year when the people in Jammu region were hopeful that the mobile internet will be restored so that they will be able to use this facility to exchange greetings with friends and relatives, the government however ruthlessly left them depressed, annoyed and anxious.
As per the reports, SMS services will start in Kashmir from 12 in the midnight after a gap of almost five months.

Jammu, Dec 31: With transition of the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir into the Union Territory (UT), anyone from across the country can apply for a government job in J&K.
"When the Government of India announced its decision to abrogate Article 370 and bifurcate Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories, people across the J&K had only one concern i.e. the rights of the local residents should be safeguarded," an analyst told Early Times.

Jammu, Dec 31: One more year has been passed but setting of AIIMS at Jammu is still a distant dream because local BJP leaders are more worried about their vehicles and palatial bungalows.
None of the BJP leader has spoken even a single word to start construction of AIIMS because their first priority is to accommodate more luxuries for them. Like many other projects, AIIMS has also missed repeated deadlines and peoples' representatives were fighting for jammers and bungalows.
Reports said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced AIIMS for Jammu in November 2105 but civil work of this ambitious project is yet to start.

JAMMU, Dec 31: In an alleged case of misappropriation of crores of rupees through fraudulent withdrawal of material payments under MGNREGA, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kishtwar has directed the police to investigate the matter.
CJM, Sudhir Khajuria has asked the SHO Kishtwar to file a case under Section 156(3) CrPC against the accused person and directed him to register an FIR after ascertaining the cognizable offence in term of the allegations leveled against the accused by the complainants.
