SRINAGAR, Jan 10: Since Jammu & Kashmir has become a union territory the central laws need to be applied in Toto, but some of the administrators in the bureaucracy have their own style of working and they implement laws that were in vogue when Jammu & Kashmir was a state having special privileges under Article 370.
Same has happened with a recruitment notification issued by Services Selection Board (SSB) with regards to filling of 144 posts in the Transport Department. The SSB through advertisement notice 4 of 2020 dated 16-12-2020 advertised 144 posts in the Transport Department. These post were advertised vide indent number/reference of indent TR-09/SMG/2015 dated 29-09-2020 followed by TR-09/SMG/2015 dated 03-12-2020. The last date for submission of online applications has been fixed as 16-01-2021.

Srinagar, Jan 10: It appears that People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is all set to crumble.
A letter written by the Peoples Conference general secretary, Imran Ansari, to his party chief Sajad Gani Lone has made it clear that constituents of PAGD—an amalgam of Kashmir centric parties—had fielded proxy candidates during the recently held District Development Council (DDC) elections and the so-called unity was nothing but a hoax.

Jammu, Jan 10: Chairman of the Peoples’ Conference (PC) Sajjad Lone is facing intense pressure from senior leaders of his party to come out of the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) to protect the identity of his own party.
Reliable sources within PC told Early Times that it was all due to pressure from senior leaders that Sajjad Lone has become inactive in activities of PAGD. Sajjad Lone was appointed as spokesperson of PAGD and earlier he used to brief media persons.
“After declaration of the results of the DDCs elections on December 22, Sajjad Lone has not issued any statement nor addressed media as spokesperson of the PAGD”, a source said.

Jammu, Jan 10: Rural Development Department has reportedly been facing shortage of staff in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
Around 20 percent of shortage of the staff in different categories has been observed, which affected the proper implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) which was notified by the Government of India in 2005 with the objective of enhancing livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual labour.
