Jammu, Jan 11: Criticising the Government for its attempt to portray its good image in the garb of Good Governance Index (GGI), the DDC Member from Sutechgarh Taranjeet Singh Tony said that self praise is not recommended as Government has miserably failed in providing public service delivery in all the sectors which have been taken to assess the performance.

Poonch, Jan 11: Residents of Dhara Dhuilyan here staged a protest on Tuesday against the failure of the Power Department to repair a transformer for the past many days.
“We were forced to hit the streets. Our transformer developed snags eight days ago. For the first two days, Power Department employees didn’t lift the transfer. For the past six days we are being told that the transformer will be installed but nothing has been till date,” protesters said. “When we went to check the position of the transformer at the workshop of the Power Department we were shocked to see that it has not even been opened yet.”

SRINAGAR, Jan 11: First case of Omicron was confirmed on Tuesday in Kashmir Valley as one pregnant woman from Uri area of Baramulla district found positive for the variant.
