Jammu, Jan 12: Although over 50 suspects have been detained by the police in connection with twin terror attacks in Dhangri village of Rajouri, cops are also questioning some arrested terrorists to get a clue about the whereabouts of terrorists involved in the gruesome killings of seven unarmed civilians including two minors.
Reports said that questionings of terrorists involved in arms and narcotics dropping cases are going on to get some breakthrough about the terror attack in Dhangri village of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, Jan 12: Hoping to host numerous dignitaries from across the country at the valedictory ceremony of Bharat Jodo Yatra here, the Indian National Congress has booked as many as 600 hotel rooms in the summer capital of Srinagar.
Sources in the party said the JK chapter of the Congress has booked rooms in some of the prominent hotels where top leadership of the party and other dignitaries including Chief Ministers and Member Parliaments are expected to stay.
Sources said most of the hotels have been booked on the banks of the famed Dal Lake here.

New Delhi, Jan 12: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today chaired a high-level meeting to review the situation on the ‘sinking’ town of Joshimath, a town in Uttarakhand facing land subsidence affecting the lives of hundreds of families.
He chaired the meeting with Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, RK Singh, Bhupendra Yadav and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat participating, on issues related to roads, power supply, water scarcity and environment in the Joshimath in the wake of land subsidence.

New Delhi, Jan 12: The situation along the frontier with China is “stable” but “unpredictable” and Indian troops are adequately deployed to deal with any contingency, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande said on Thursday.
At a press conference ahead of the Army Day, Gen Pande also said that the troops deployed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) have been able to maintain a robust posture to defeat any evil design of the adversary with a firm and resolute manner.

SRINAGAR, Jan 12: Two labourers were killed after an avalanche hit Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, officials said. The avalanche hit the Sarbal area close to Nilgrath where Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) is executing work on the Zojila Tunnel. Two dead bodies, identified as Sandeep Singh and Bal Krishna — both residents of Kishtwar — have been retrieved so far, officials said. Srinagar, Jan 12: Minimum temperature plunged to sub zero in Kashmir valley on Thursday after higher reaches received snowfall and plains were lashed by rains.
The Meteorological Department observed light rain in plains, light to moderate snow over middle and higher reaches and heavy snow over Sonamarg and higher reaches of Kupwara and Bandipora in north Kashmir.
Widespread Light rain in plains of Kashmir and Jammu Divisions and light to Moderate Snow over higher reaches of Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Baramula towards evening, MeT office said.
Light snow/rain at many places on January 13 and the weather will remain mainly dry from January 14-18.
