‘NIA, Jammu Police to investigate attacks’ | | |

Jammu, Jan 13: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate the twin-terror attacks in Dangri village of the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
This was announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah while interacting with media persons at Jammu after chairing a high-level meeting of the top brass of the civil administration and security forces.
“Government of India has given the investigation of both the terror incidents in Dangri village of Rajouri on January 1 and January 2 to the National Investigation Agency”, the Union Home Minister said, adding, “The NIA and Jammu Police will together investigate it with the active involvement of Jammu Police”.
The Union Home Minister said that joint team of NIA and Jammu Police will investigate all terror incidents that took place in Jammu during the last one and half years in this part of the Union Territory.
Important to mention here that during the last one and half year, activities of terrorists have been increased in Jammu province especially in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.

Jammu, Jan 13: During his trip to Jammu on January 13, Union Home Minister Amit Shah discussed the situation for holding of the much-awaited Assembly elections in J&K.
Top sources said during an “informal interaction with some senior functionaries” in Jammu and Kashmir, the visiting dignitary asked them about the security situation for “potential holding of the polls.”
While the decision to hold the elections is to be taken by the election Commission of India, the Union Home Ministry looks ahead to have an overview of the security preparedness.

Srinagar, Jan 13: Major parts of Kashmir Valley including Srinagar received snowfall and rains leading to closure of Srinagar-Jammu national highway and cancellation of to and fro flight operations at the Srinagar International Airport on Friday.
All flights for today at our airport have been cancelled due to continuous bad weather. The passengers of the cancelled flights shall be accommodated by the respective Airlines in the next available flight at no extra cost, a tweet of Srinagar Airport authority said.
The inclement weather also shut the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway due to snowfall and raining at various spots of the road.

Srinagar, Jan 13: Amid moderate to heavy snowfall on higher reaches during the past few days, State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has issued a 'high danger' avalanche warning for the people living above 2000 meters sea level in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
An avalanche with HIGH danger level is likely to occur above 2000 meters of north Kashmir districts of Bandipora and Kupwara districts in the next 24 hours. Both the districts including higher reaches received moderate to heavy snowfall during the past few days resulting in closure of several far flung roads with the district headquarters.

Srinagar, Jan 13: Most parts of Kashmir received fresh snowfall and rains today leading to the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu national highway and impacting the flight operations to and fro the Valley, officials said here.
While the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir experienced moderate to heavy snowfall, many areas in the plains received light to moderate snowfall, they said.
The fresh snowfall started early in the morning and continued till the last reports came in, they said.
