Apni Party-Peoples Conference war of words heats up | | |

Srinagar, Jan 14: With the senior leaders of the Peoples Conference and the Apni Party showering choicest abuses on each other, the war of words between the two parties has only heated up in Kashmir.
After a series of veiled attacks on each other, a senior leader of the Apni Party has called his counterpart from the Peoples Conference “Rabid” who may “grow a tail.”
The other party, on the other hand, said “Khakkur Diya” or dragged him. The Peoples Conference leader added that his rival from the Apni Party was a drunkard and that he was not in his senses while talking.

Srinagar, Jan 14: The sun shone in parts of Kashmir on Saturday as the latest spell of snowfall, which continued intermittently for three days, ended in the region.
Srinagar and other plains of valley received the season's first snowfall during the last 24 hours. The snowfall in most parts of the valley including Srinagar had ended by late Friday.
The wet weather of Friday had caused traffic disruptions and also triggered threats of avalanches in mountainous areas across Kashmir.

Srinagar, Jan 14: Two avalanches hit Sarbal area near the tourist destination of Sonamarg in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Saturday evening, sources said.
As of now it is unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
They said two avalanches simultaneously hit Sarbal colony in Sonamarg at 5:30 pm damaging a workshop.
Joint teams have launched a rescue operation.
More details are emerging. On Thursday, two labourers working at the Zojila Tunnel along the strategic Srinagar- Leh highway were killed when an avalanche hit Sarbal area.

Srinagar, Jan 14: Jammu and Kashmir authorities on Saturday issued a ‘high danger’ avalanche warning for the Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
Avalanche warnings have been issued for 12 districts, including Kupawara which witnessed moderate to heavy snowfall a day before. New Delhi, Jan 14: Security around the office and home of Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari was tightened following extortion-cum-death threats, officials said here on Saturday.
At least three calls were received by Gadkari's private office in the city - between 11.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. - and the caller purportedly uttered the name of absconding mafia don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.
