JKCA scam haunts Farooq ahead of Lok Sabha elections | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 15: Although National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday managed to skip his appearance before the Enforcement Directorate due to “health grounds”, worries ahead for former Chief Minister in the much-publicized Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKSC) scam ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 11, 2024, had summoned Dr Farooq Abdullah for questioning in connection with the JKCA scam.
In the summon the veteran politician was asked to depose at the ED office in Srinagar on Thursday. He was charge-sheeted by the agency, which investigates financial crimes, in the case in 2022.

Jammu, Jan 15: To check misuse of funds during the last quarter of the current financial year, the government on Monday announced some austerity measures.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department sanction accorded to the rationalization of expenditure for fiscal prudence and economy during the current financial year with immediate effect.
As per the guidelines during the last quarter of the current financial year the revenue expenditure should be limited to 30 percent of revised budget allocation and in the month of March, the expenditure should be limited to 15% of such allocation.

Jammu, Jan 15: The security forces launched search operations in several villages in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Friday following reports of suspicious movement in the area, officials said on Monday. The search operations were undertaken in Sawjian areas of Mandi tehsil, they said, adding that sniffer dogs and aerial surveillance were used in it.
