‘Apni Party, PC bonhomie can make things difficult for NC, PDP’ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 1: Last week president of the Apni Party Altaf Bukhari met the Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone at an disclosed location in Srinagar apparently to discuss the emerging political situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the media reports both the leaders met at an undisclosed location in Srinagar without aides and security. It was a one on one meeting.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “The meeting is a significant one as both the parties are not a part of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance (a conglomerate of opposition national parties) which includes National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also.”
He said that there is a possibility of the Apni Party and the Peoples Conference agreeing on a seat sharing agreement for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections as both the parties want to make their presence felt. “If PC and Apni Party enter into an alliance they can make things difficult for NC and PDP,” the analyst added.

‘Apni Party expels Javid Baig’ | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 1: Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party on Monday expelled former MLA Baramulla, Javid Hussain Baig over alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
In a statement Apni Party General Secretary announced expulsion of Baig from the party, citing his involvement in anti-party activities.
“Since it goes against the basic constitution of the party, his basic membership is hereby terminated, and he is expelled from the party for a period of 5 years”, he said.

Srinagar, Jan 1: Unabated freezing cold continues in Kashmir Valley as Srinagar records a low of -5.2 C on the first day of the new year. The Meteorological Centre Srinagar said that the minimum temperature plummeting at Srinagar was recorded at -5.2 C on Monday, against the -3.4?C recorded the previous night. It was 3.1C below normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during this period of the season.

Jammu, Jan 1: Around 50 more advanced Armado vehicles will give more teeth to the Indian Army to fight terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
“In view of the recent attacks on army vehicles in Rajouri and Poonch districts along the Line of Control (LOC), nearly 50 more advanced bullet-proof vehicles have been sanctioned,” official sources added.
